Lot of reviewers rightfully complain that the metal hardware oxidizes when washed in dishwasher- this can happen on more expensive jars, too, and this hardware is definitely lower gauge/quality. Save yourself some headache/heartache and disassemble the jars before washing. It doesn't require tools, and only takes a few seconds. The glass and silicone seals go in the washer, the bail hardware stays out. The diameter of the gaskets is also standard, so to get a better seal, buy better gaskets. I replaced mine with ones from another retailer, and I have no leaks. The better gaskets are thicker.
Overall, exactly what I was looking for. Nice jars with wide mouths and quality seals. I like that they included the labels and chalk pen as well. The only thing that could use improvement is the wire clasps. They are very thin gauge wire and kind of flimsy feeling. They don’t seem to match the quality of the rest of the product. Nonetheless, I’m happy with the purchase and they look great in the kitchen storing some of our grains and dried beans.
These jars are just what my kitchen needed! I'm trying to go zero-waste and these glass jars are large enough to hold my biggest bulk items all while looking amazing on my counter. They are easy to clean and seal perfectly. Also they come with black decorative labels and a white marker.
